Did you know that sex, other than being a feel-good activity is also a do-good activity?

You read that right, there’s something called a ‘healthy amount of sex’ and if you’re doing it, you’re benefiting in ways you didn’t even imagine.

From cutting down risk of cancer, keeping your heart healthy, maintaining and flushing your clear skin, the list is never ending but I’ll be jotting down some of the astounding benefits of having a healthy sex life, let ew know if the comments section if you experienced some of them or if I missed something out

First and foremost

1. Gives a strong boost to your Immunity

Penetrative sex has shown to produce antibodies in the body of both parties that help figtht viruses, bacterias, and other cmmon illness causing germs. It even regulates your blood pressure levels and promotes longevity.

Science suggests that people who have sex 1 to 2 times a week had more immunoglobulin A (IgA) in their saliva compared to those who had less sex.

FYI: IgA is the very antibody that plays an essential role in preventing illnesses and is the first line of defense against human papillomavirus, or HPV (a sexually transmitted infection)

2. Promotes Cardiovascular Health = Healthy Heart!

Having sex engages you senses, muscles, moobility & flexibility. It's no less than a short cardio session on the treadmill. It burns about 5 calories per minute! In fact, it is considered as a good form of exercise reducing your risk of heart diseases, strokes, and hypertension.

A study in men showed that having sex at least 2 times a week made them 50% less prone to die from any heart ailments than those who didn’t. Who would’ve thought of that, right?

3. Great for Mental Wellbeing!

This is my favourite benefit of all because, who doesn't like free therapy with guaranteed results? The list of benefits starts with lower stress levels, happier moods, stronger & more secure relationships & boosts your confidence levels.

Sex helps relieve the stress and puts you in a happy mood by elevating the endorphins and other hormones that boost mood and confidence. As it’s a form of exercise, it can also help calm you down. Orgasms also release the hormones prolactin & oxytocin which help you feel sleepy and relaxed, ensuring a good night’s sleep and healthy regulation of hormones in the body maintaining a healthy mind.

4. Increases Brain Capacity

A large consensus of scientists believe that with an active sex life, we might actually stand a chance at making our brain work better. They found that sex makes the brain really tap into the grey matter and pushes it to work in a more analytical way.

Studies on mammals also suggest that sex enhances areas of the brain involved in memory thorugh reducing the times at which neorons fire and even increasing receptor sensitivity.

5. Goodbye Menstrual Pain

This revolves more around self pleasure or let’s say ‘first-base’ rather than full blown sex. It’s proven that the hormones released while aroused can reduce pain sensation and even increase your pain threshold in times of menstrual cramps. So ‘learning’ a little about the birds and bees on the web isn’t a bad idea at the time.

Also, it’s said that spending time or just looking at your significant other can help reduce this pain. Now we finally know what the ‘men in ‘menstrual’ is for.

6. Lowers Risk of Prostate Cancer

Sex fights cancer?? Okay that’s a stretch but it surely prevents it.

European Urology published a study in December 2016 claiming that men who ejaculate at least 21 times a month were 20 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer compared with those who do so four to seven times per month. While more research is needed to confirm this link, it appears that men who ejaculate regularly either with their partner or ‘self-help’ methods may reduce their risk of prostate cancer.

7. Increases Libido

This may sound crazy but it is as true as crazy it sounds. Basically what it means is that having sex will lead to more sex down the line since it increases your libido i.e. the desire for sexual intimacy. This happens due to the hormones released during the activity and post orgasm send signals to your brain basically telling wit that sex is good for you.

It's noteworthy that in women, it increases the blood flow to the vagina thereby stimulating its functions such as lubrication and elasticity. It’s a no brainer that lubrication (natural or external) is required for penetrative sex but science says you’ve got yourself covered if you’re doing it in an healthy amount. No less, no more.

Due to these factors, sex is also known to improve bladder control in women since the same muscles come into the picture that control the orgasms.

8. The Anti-Aging Formula Activity

Last but not the least, this is the most loved benefit world wide for why sex is good for you. Ever notice that post-sex glow on your or your pasrtner’s face? How it just flushes with radiance? That glow is attributed to a combination of relief from stress, being in a better mood, and the flush of blood vessels under your skin, which is a natural part of the arousal process.

It is said that people who have sex for a minimum of 4 times per week with a regular partner looked to be 7 to 12 years younger than they actually were. I don’t think any anti-aging cream or botox surgery can promise such results even after the extravagant advertisements!

We have reached to a conclusion that’s no surprise to anyone but let’s have it, SEX IS GOOD FOR YOU! GO F*KK.
